The Police Department may provide paid police details when, in the judgment of the Chief of
Police or designee, the requested assignment requires a legitimate police function or a public-
safety need (such as public way traffic control, pedestrian safety monitoring, or other
circumstances requiring police authority). Examples may include events that affect public
streets, large public gatherings, parades, festivals, sporting events, construction activities,
or other situations where a police presence is reasonably necessary to protect public safety.
For smaller private events, such as weddings, parties, private functions, or gatherings held
primarily on private property, the Department may determine that the requested services are
more appropriately provided by a private security company, particularly when the primary
need is guest or access control, property protection, monitoring of a private venue, or
general event security rather than a police-specific function.
Each request will be evaluated individually based on the nature, location, size, anticipated
attendance, traffic and public-safety impact, available police resources, and other relevant
circumstances. The Chief of Police or designee retains sole discretion to determine whether
a paid police detail is appropriate, what level of police staffing is necessary, or whether the
requester should instead be referred to a private security provider.

All third party details = $90/hour* - *new rate effective 4/29/2024

MV Hospital details = $112.50/hour* - *new rate effective 4/29/2024

Minimum pay of 4 hours in blocks up to 8 hours.

Excess of 8 hours will be paid by the hour at time and a half.

2 HOUR MINIMUM NOTICE

Failure to give the minimum 2 hour notice will result in a fee of $360 plus a 10% administrative charge.
